A repair-first approach
We begin by understanding what survives, what has failed and why. Sound historic timber is retained wherever practical, with localised repairs and compatible new material used to extend the life of the original work. Replacement is considered when an element can no longer reasonably be conserved.
Traditional architectural joinery
Projects may include doors, windows, shutters, panelling, mouldings, skirtings, facings and other bespoke timber details. Existing profiles and construction provide the best reference; where details are missing, we develop a solution that sits comfortably within the building.
Working with historic properties
Listed building consent or planning permission may be required when proposed work affects historic character. We can work from professional drawings and specifications and coordinate with architects, surveyors and conservation advisers appointed to the project.
